Mode of Action

Profenofos is an organophosphate that inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE), causing acetylcholine to accumulate at nerve synapses and driving the pest’s nervous system into overstimulation and collapse. The pyrethroid component modulates voltage-gated sodium channels in insect nerve axons, keeping them open and causing repetitive firing, knockdown and paralysis.
