Overview

Nutrixa - Calci 11% is a straight liquid Calcium fertilizer from Vatrixa Crop Sciences, supplying calcium at 11% without the added nitrate-nitrogen load of calcium nitrate — useful for late-stage applications where extra nitrogen isn't wanted, or where calcium alone needs correcting.

Product Description

Calcium is essential for cell-wall strength but moves poorly inside the plant, since it travels only in the transpiration stream and not through the phloem. That makes fast-growing tissue — fruit, root tips, new leaves — chronically vulnerable to shortfalls even in soils that test adequate for calcium. Nutrixa Calci 11% supplies calcium in a readily available liquid form for foliar or fertigation use across fruiting vegetables, fruit crops and field crops.

Mode of Action

Soluble calcium ions cross-link pectin molecules (as calcium pectate) in the middle lamella between plant cells, forming the structural "cement" that keeps cell walls rigid and membranes intact. Because calcium cannot be redistributed from older tissue to new growth once absorbed, it must be supplied continuously and directly to the tissue that needs it — which is why frequent, targeted liquid calcium applications are far more effective at preventing blossom end rot, fruit cracking, tip burn and post-harvest softening than relying on soil-applied calcium alone.
