COMMON MISTAKES - Why PM Matsya Sampada Yojana Application Get Rejected

Applying without a Fisherman Registration Certificate / fishing licence — this document is the gateway; get registered with the state fisheries department first.

Skipping the project report on larger investments — District Level Committee approval for big components (boats, cold storage, RAS) needs a proper project report.

Assuming everyone gets 60% — general category gets 40%; the 60% band is for SC/ST and women applicants, and it needs the caste certificate attached where applicable.

Waiting only for the online portal — the District Fisheries Officer route moves component applications just as officially, and local officers know which components have budget this year.

INSIDER TIPS FOR PM MATSYA SAMPADA YOJANA

Apply component-wise: a boat, nets, and an ice plant are separate applications — sequence them rather than bundling everything into one request.

Active fishermen should make sure they are enrolled for the free ₹3 lakh group accident insurance (₹1.5 lakh for permanent disability) — the premium is fully government-paid.

SC/ST and women applicants: attach the caste certificate and claim the 60% band explicitly — on a ₹5 lakh boat that is ₹3 lakh subsidy versus ₹2 lakh at the general rate.

After District Level Committee approval, track the payment on the fisheries DBT portal and keep your Aadhaar-linked bank account active — subsidy failures are usually bank-seeding issues.
