Mode of Action

Thiamethoxam is a neonicotinoid that acts as an agonist at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR), causing continuous nerve stimulation, paralysis and death in sucking and chewing pests. Chlorantraniliprole, an anthranilic diamide, activates insect ryanodine receptors, triggering uncontrolled release of calcium in muscle cells — causing rapid feeding cessation, paralysis and death.
