AZTEC-Azoxystrobin 11%+ Tebuconazole 18.3% W/W SC/AZTEC FUNIGICIDE

AZTEC -Azoxystrobin 11%+Tebuconazole 18.3% W/W SC

INTRODUCTION

Aztec (Azoxystrobin 11% + Tebuconazole 18.3% W/W SC) is a highly advanced fungicide produced by Exylon, offering dual-action protection against fungal diseases. With its combination of Azoxystrobin and Tebuconazole, Aztec ensures superior disease control, promotes healthy plant growth, and enhances yield potential.

Combines systemic and translaminar activity for broad-spectrum disease control; Dual active ingredients for preventive and curative action; Long-lasting residual effect, reducing application frequency; Safe for most crops when applied as recommended.

Protects crops from a wide range of fungal diseases, ensuring healthy growth; Enhances yield and quality by effectively managing diseases during critical growth stages; Economical with its long residual action and low application rates; Ideal for integrated disease management (IDM) programs.

How AZTEC Works

1. Azoxystrobin – Energy Blocker

Azoxystrobin interferes with fungal respiration and reduces the energy available to the pathogen.

Result:

  • Stops fungal energy production
  • Restricts spore germination
  • Helps prevent new infection
  • Slows fungal development

2. Tebuconazole – Cell Membrane Blocker

Tebuconazole inhibits the formation of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes.

Result:

  • Stops fungal growth
  • Weakens fungal cells
  • Provides curative activity during early infection

🔥 Combined Action

AZTEC = Respiration inhibition + Ergosterol inhibition

This dual chemistry provides a broader disease-control approach than many single-active fungicides. However, because both FRAC Groups 11 and 3 can be vulnerable to resistance when repeatedly used, farmers should rotate with effective fungicides having different modes of action

Diseases Controlled

Depending on the crop and registered label use, Azoxystrobin + Tebuconazole formulations are used against diseases such as:

  • Powdery mildew
  • Fruit rot
  • Die-back
  • Anthracnose
  • Leaf spots
  • Rust
  • Sheath blight
  • Early blight
  • Late blight
  • Purple blotch
  • Downy mildew

The exact approved crop–disease combinations can vary by product registration and label. Indian references for this formulation include uses in crops such as chilli, rice, onion, wheat, tomato, potato, grapes and apple

Farmer Crop-Wise Use Guide

Crop Important Diseases
🌶️ Chilli Fruit rot, powdery mildew, die-back, anthracnose
🍚 Paddy/Rice Sheath blight
🧅 Onion Purple blotch
🌾 Wheat Yellow rust
🍅 Tomato Early blight
🥔 Potato Early blight, late blight
🍇 Grapes Downy mildew, powdery mildew
🍎 Apple Scab, powdery mildew, premature leaf fall

 Example: Chilli Farmer Use

AZTEC can be particularly valuable in chilli disease-management programmes where farmers face:

Fruit Rot

  • Dark lesions on fruits

  • Fruit shrivelling and rotting

  • Reduced marketable production

Die-Back

  • Drying of branches from the tip backward

  • Branch weakening

  • Reduced flowering and fruit production

Powdery Mildew

  • White powdery growth

  • Yellowing and weakening of leaves

  • Reduced photosynthesis

A registered Indian label reference for this formulation lists fruit rot, powdery mildew and die-back in chilli, with application at disease onset or preventively, and a 15-day interval between two sprays in that specific label recommendation.
